The next RED School will be March 15-21, 2026
Here’s the team of teachers in charge of this year’s courses, with whom you’ll have the opportunity to interact
Cécile Feuillie is a CNRS researcher specialized in biophysics, notably Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and vibrational spectroscopy – based techniques, working at CBMN (Institute of Chemistry and Biology of Membranes and Nanoobjects) in Bordeaux. After a PhD and a first postdoc on the origins of nucleic acids through the lens of their interactions with mineral surfaces, she explored biophysical methods to study molecular processes at small scales. Her current research focuses on the understanding of biological systems and molecule-surface interactions at the nanoscale, with the study of peptide / membrane interactions and self-assembly processes, especially in amyloid proteins. Among the methodologies used, AFM coupled to IR spectroscopy and its abilities for chemical imaging offer exciting opportunities for astrobiology.
