Rocky exoplanets, observations, ultra-cool stars
A very short bio (up to 200 words) : Elsa did her PhD at the University of Liège, Belgium, on the search for potentially habitable extrasolar planets around ultra-cool dwarf stars as part of the SPECULOOS consortium. She developed expertise in the analysis of photometric data from ground- and space-based facilities, as well as specific knowledge of ultra-cool stars as planet hosts and expertise on the TRAPPIST-1 system. She then obtained a Paris-Region Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship to work at CEA Saclay for two years on the analysis of the first thermal emission observations of the TRAPPIST-1 planets with JWST. She subsequently obtained a PSL Fellowship to work at Paris Observatory on the analysis of JWST transmission and emission spectra of rocky to sub-Neptune planets. Since September 2024, she is an assistant astronomer at the CEA Department of Astrophysics, where she focuses on the search for and characterisation of rocky worlds and the study of their surfaces and atmospheres with JWST.
