Vinciane Debaille is a Research Director at the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) and a professor at the Université libre de Bruxelles. Her research employs isotope geochemistry as a primary tool to investigate processes that governed the formation and differentiation of planetary bodies. By analyzing isotopic systems preserved in meteorites and ancient terrestrial samples, she contributes to our understanding of the formation of the solar system and the evolution of asteroids and rocky planets. In addition to her laboratory research, she has participated in five Antarctic expeditions to collect meteorites in this unique natural environment to expand the available sample collection for scientific study. She is also interested in the curation of those precious extraterrestrial samples. She was selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) as one of five European scientists to serve as a Return Sample Scientist for NASA’s Mars 2020 mission, which is designed to return Martian samples to Earth for detailed geochemical and isotopic characterization.

This is the registration page for the virtual edition of the RED Training School (June 2nd – 8th, 2026). This online Training School will feature recorded lectures from the current year’s in-person RED event. Each streamed lecture will be followed by a live Q&A session with the speaker. Throughout the week, attendees will have the chance to network with students from all around the world, connect with the lecturers, present their PhD topics (optional), and share and discuss research across disciplines. All lectures will be conducted in English.

Once your registration has been validated, you will get the login to access the interface for this virtual school.

Participants who watch the whole lecture series and succeed in short quizzes about it will receive a certificate of attendance. Live animations and Q&A sessions will be organized at CEST (UTC + 2), but you can watch the lectures and replays of the Q&A session at your convenience in your time zone.

Registrations are open until May 26th, 1 PM CEST (UTC +2).
